These amber grains are produced from the concentrate of organic maple syrup from the maple groves. The syrup is heated to dehydrate it making a natural sugar with a lower glycemic index than the more common sugars or even that of honey.
Maple sugar is often linked to Canadian cooking especially sweet dishes like pancakes and waffles with the flavour adding a naturally caramalised taste to any dessert. Grind over yoghurts, icecream or fruit salad before serving or add to savoury dishes to give some sweetness.
The grinder is refillable.
