White Peppercorns are the fruit of the Pepper plant.  They are picked when almost ripe and then the dark outer layer is removed leaving only the white inner seed.  The Peppercorns which can be used whole, crushed or ground have a strong and perfumed taste.  They are a common seasoning in Chinese cooking and are also used to add flavour to almost any dish.
